About Our School
Building a New Generation, Through Education
K2 Generation School (K2G) is located in Kailahun Town, Eastern Sierra Leone. What began as a preschool for children aged 2 to 5, founded in 2023 by Lyande Kaikai, has grown into a vision for a full educational journey — now including primary education. Thanks to the generous support of donors, partners, and community members, K2G provides Kailahun’s children with an exceptional learning environment.
Our Growth & Vision
From our initial preschool beginnings, K2G has always emphasised a holistic approach—combining play, nature, and academic foundations. As we expand into primary school, our mission is strengthened:
-
Seamless Continuity: Children start in preschool and can progress into primary education within the same caring, consistent environment.
-
Enhanced Curriculum: We are extending the curriculum to include literacy, numeracy, science, arts, social studies, inquiry, and more — building on the foundations set in early years.
-
Expert Educators: We will recruit teachers with primary pedagogy experience and support ongoing professional development so children receive excellent instruction at every stage.
-
Integrated Outdoor Learning: Our planned playground and outdoor learning zones will support lessons, nature-based projects, play, and environmental awareness.
Our Campus & Facilities
The K2G campus is designed to nurture children’s growth in multiple dimensions. Key features include:
-
Main Building
Spaces for classrooms, indoor learning, assemblies, and events. -
Playground & Outdoor Learning Areas (New Expansion)
-
Inclusive play structures: climbing frames, swings, slides, and natural play elements
-
Quiet zones and reading corners outdoors
-
Outdoor classrooms or “nature stations” for lessons, gardening, and forest-school style work
-
Safe paths, cycle lanes, soft surfaces, and greenery for exploration
-
-
Growing Garden
Beds for cultivating fruits, vegetables, herbs, and native plants — used both for learning and to supplement school lunches. -
Meals & Daily Routine
The preschool day runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Children receive freshly cooked lunches (using local ingredients), plus healthy snacks throughout the day. (As we move into primary, schedules and meal plans will expand accordingly.)

Head Teacher's Welcome
I am honoured to lead K2G School, as we deepen our commitment to children, families, and the wider community. Together with a caring, dedicated team, I aim to foster a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every child is valued, encouraged, and empowered. As we enter this next chapter, expanding into primary education and enhancing our outdoor spaces, I look forward to the continued journey of growth and impact.
